Biography

I was born in Padova, Italy, on March 19th, 1968. I started playing piano and violin when I was 6 years old but at 10 I switched to guitar.
In 1981 I enjoyed my first musical experience with the band “Magma” (not the famous one).
At the beginning, my musical repertoire was inspired by classic rock (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath) combined with my original songs.
During this period I had the opportunity to play concerts, and for the first time I entered a recording studio to record my first demo. In 1984 I joined the heavy metal band “Swords” and recorded my first mini LP, “The Black Opera”.
At the end of 1986 I left “Swords” to enter the famous Italian rock band from Padova, “Serena Rock Band”, founded by Franco Serena. During the time with “Serena Rock Band” I was a minor, but I had the opportunity to play alongside artists with great experience, and my skills improved a lot thanks to big concertsplayed in the north of Italy. In 1989 I recorded the album “Like A Dream” with this band.
In 1991 I temporarily left the “Serena Rock Band” to replace the guitarist in the rock fusion band “Reporter”, featuring Massimo Aiello (student of Tullio De Piscopo) and Giuseppe & Nicola Sorato (Nicola is a famed session musician). Subsequently the name of the band changed in “Gate 4”.
From 1992 to 1995 I had a lot of experiences with different bands but the most important was definitely with a famous Italian band, “Microdisco”. With this band I had one of the greatest experiences of my life: we were the opening band for the Italian tour of Ray Charles. Thanks to this I had the opportunity to visit and play in some of the most beautiful stages in Italy such as the Sistine theatre in Rome, Pala Hilton Pharma in Ferrara, PalaRaschi in Parma, PalaRuffini in Torino, the Forum di Assago in Milano and the Rossetti theatre in Trieste.
From 1995 to 1997 I returned in the “Serena Rock Band”.
In 2000 I founded “Sparks”, a cover band of Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple which lasted until 2005. Since 2006 I’ve been playing in “T-Side”, a tribute band to one of my favorite bands of all time, Toto. In 2016 I created the Marco Fanton Project (“MFP”) a trio playing my original music.
My favorite kinds of music are Rock, Hard Rock, Pop Rock, County, funk, pop, and blues.
My favorite guitarists are: Steve Lukather, Eric Johnson, David Gilmour, Micheal Landau, Scott Henderson, Robben Ford, Santana, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Micheal Cusson (Uzeb), Larry Carlton, Eric Clapton and others. I prefer melodic guitarists that have the ability to create strong emotions in the audience.
In 2016 I started a YouTube channel which has been a success thanks to my experience and dedication to digital guitar systems.
This allowed me to work with various renowned companies, distributors and musicians, becoming an international product specialist in digital systems.
I am an official artist/endorser of G66 , Fractal Audio, Dogal Strings
